Approval of MEO's cost of capital rate for financial year 2021

By final decision of 22 March 2022, ANACOM approved the cost of capital rate for MEO - Serviços de Comunicações e Multimédia, applicable to financial year 2021, the draft decisionhttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1715184 of which had been notified on 12 January 2022 to the European Commission (EC), the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) and the National Regulatory Authorities of the other EU Member States.

Following the notification, on 24 January 2022, EC sent a request for information to ANACOM on issues generally related to the schedule for updating prices of products affected by the updating of the weighted average cost of capital (WACC) and a request for clarification on other factors which, in addition to the WACC, affect the price of regulated products. These issued where clarified by ANACOM on 27 January 2022. On 11 February 2022, EC issued comments which did not imply any change to the referred draft decision.
