Find out what changes for consumers with the new Electronic Communications Law

The new Electronic Communications Lawhttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1727429 came into force on 14 November 2022, establishing the legal framework applicable to these services, replacing the legal framework in force until now.

This law strengthens consumer protection in areas identified as problematic by both ANACOM and consumer protection organisations, and which have given rise to a high number of complaints, namely, transparency of contractual conditions, changing circumstances, such as situations of unemployment or emigration, and costs related to non-compliance with loyalty agreements.
