WP IE - Paris

The working party on Information Economy (WP IE) of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) met on 3-4 June in Paris.

The meeting focused mainly on the following topics:

  • Spread of digital content - Presentation of cases on developments in the areas of technical and scientific publication, music, and computer and video games. Also presented were some general views on policies related to this issue, by delegations from five member-countries (Japan, South Korea, Italy, Norway and the United Kingdom).
  • Study of policies followed by Italy and Norway vis-à-vis companies? use of information and communication technologies (ICTs).
  • Definition of goals keeping in mind analysis of the reorganisation of value chains deriving from the development of ICTs and their impact on growth and productivity.
  • Continuation of work on employment and ICT qualifications.
