Portuguese in the European Network and Information Security Agency


Pedro de Sampaio Nunes, Director for Internet, Network Security and General Affairs, from the European Commission Information Society Directorate-General, and  Pedro Manuel Barbosa Veiga, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Foundation for the National Scientific Computing (FCCN), are the two Portuguese members of the Management Board of the European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA), the first one being one of the three European Commission representatives and the second one the representative from Portugal.

This body is composed of one representative from each Member-state of the European Union (EU), three representatives from the European Commission and three other members, without right to vote, proposed by the Commission and appointed by the Council, each one representing the following groups: the information and communication technologies industry, consumer groups and academic experts in network and information security. 

ENISA Executive Director shall be appointed by the Management Board before October 2004. The European Commission is now selecting the candidates.
