New member of the Management Board of ANACOM

Pedro Duarte Neves is the new member of the Management Board of ANACOM, with a non-renewable term of five years, following the respective appointment by the Council of Ministers of 30 July 2004. The new member of the BD holds a doctorate in Economics, is an invited associated professor at the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences (FCEE) of the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) and assistant director of the Department for Economic Studies of the Bank of Portugal.

The appointment was made official through the Resolution of the Council of Ministers no. 88/2004, published in the Diário da República, II Series, of 18 August, with effects taken as from the date of the approval thereof.

The BD of ANACOM thus consists of: Álvaro Dâmaso, chairman, José Saraiva Mendes and Pedro Duarte Neves, members.

Having the XVI Constitutional Government taken office, on 17 July 2004, the electronic communications sector became subordinated to the Minister for Public Works, Transports and Communications. The new Executive Government integrates the previous member of the BD of ANACOM, Maria do Carmo Seabra, who is now the Minister for Education.
