PT SE 19 - Copenhagen

/ Updated on 30.08.2006

Project team (PT) SE 19 of the Spectrum Engineering group (WG SE) met on 3 December in Copenhagen, Denmark. This PT?s mission focuses on fixed service (FS) issues, namely the preparation of harmonised frequency plans for FS, the study of new technologies and compatibility with other services, as well as the co-ordination of relevant activities with the Radiocommunication Sector of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU-R).

Participants in the meeting debated the WG SE report, the recommendation on fixed wireless systems (FWS) between 3.4 and 3.8 GHz, co-ordination of point multipoint (PMP) systems on the border, typical FS power/gain values, possible modification of recommendation ITU-R Rec. F1670 and goals to achieve in upcoming meetings.
The following decisions were made:

- Revision of the recommendation on FWS should take new technologies and usage of the 3.5 GHz band into account;

- The co-ordination of PMP systems on the border will be debated at upcoming meetings;

- Some situations must be clarified with regard to the FS protection reasons stipulated in recommendation ITU-R F1670.

The recommendation on FWS systems between 3.4 and 3.8 GHz will be concluded in the next meetings.

The next meeting has been scheduled for 20-21 January.
