ECC PT SE7 - Copenhagen

/ Updated on 30.08.2006

Copenhagen hosted the 30 June-1 July meeting of project team PT SE7, which focuses on land mobile service issues, attended by about 23 participants. Of the two issues mandated to the group, the use of land mobile service terminals (GSM, UMTS, among others) on board aircraft and border co-ordination methods for mobile service, the latter saw some developments, given that the new SEAMCAT® version is now available. The group will thus begin to test the existing co-ordination proposals.

Also noteworthy is that the last plenary session of the Spectrum Engineering Group (WG SE) decided that this PT should study the impact of introducing TETRA TEDS in the 400 MHz and 900 MHz bands.

Regarding the use of GSM mobile terminals on board aircraft, the scenarios to study were finalised, along with some of the key parameters for same.

Lastly, the new SEAMCAT version was presented to the group, with a view to the studies meant to be undertaken and also answering questions raised by some of the contributions presented for modelling the scenarios.
