ECC PT SE7 - Helsinki

/ Updated on 30.08.2006
Helsinki, Finland, hosted a 17-18 August meeting of project team PT SE7 (issues concerning land mobile service) attended by 31 participants. Of the three issues mandated to the group ? use of land mobile service terminals (GSM, UMTS, among others) on board aircraft, introduction of TETRA TEDS (TETRA Enhanced Data Service) in 400 MHz and 900 MHz bands and methods of cross-border co-ordination for mobile service ? the latter saw some progress, as the new version of the SEAMCAT® tool is already available, which enables the group to begin testing the existing co-ordination proposals.

Regarding the use of GSM mobile terminals on board aircraft, the situations to study were finalised, along with some of the key parameters for same, except the modelling of the aircraft interior. It is thus expected that the results of the MCL calculations and the SEAMCAT tool simulations should be presented in September.
