The second meeting of the ad-hoc group to debate regulatory issues involving the 2 GHz frequency was held on 24 May in Brussels, attended by experts from the Communications Committee (COCOM) of the Radio Spectrum Committee (RSC) of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT) and the European Commission (EC). The meeting saw discussion of the exclusive allocation of frequency up to 2 GHz to satellite mobile systems (SMS), as well as authorisation and selection options for possible candidates to use SMS. Also considered was a proposed EC Decision on the harmonised use of radio spectrum in the 2 GHz band.
