ECC WG RA - Copenhagen

/ Updated on 30.08.2006

Copenhagen hosted a 2-3 May 2006 meeting of the working group on Regulatory Affairs (WG RA) attended by 426 participants, including observers from OnAir and Boeing of the United Kingdom.

The meeting saw approval of the group's terms of reference, as well as the new internal organisation methodology, i.e., the structure and terms of reference of the project teams (PTs).

The ECC aircraft Decision underwent an editorial revision, given the comments from PT SE 7, as same had already been subject to approval by WG RA. The group will nevertheless study any illegalities occurring in the current text and, after public consultation (or even during same), may carry out the necessary modifications.

The ECC vessels Decision was also subject to debate, specifically the comments received from administrations against putting same up for public consultation. Some administrations do not want to see this issue finalised before carrying out a more detailed analysis, whether by the working group on Spectrum Engineering (WG SE) or by WG RA.

Other issues were also debated, concerning flexible bands, light licensing, license exempt and commons, as well as the framework of the work to be undertaken and for which co-ordinators have already been appointed.
