Summary: This study was carried at the request of the European Commission for the purpose of gathering sector relevant information for its third biennial report on the application of the Postal Directive due at the end of 2006. Accordingly report summarizes regulatory and market developments seen in the European postal sector since the adoption of the Postal Directive in 1997.
