Title: The impact on Universal service of the full market accomplishment of the postal internal market in 2009

Summary
: This study was carried at the request of the European Commission with a view to assessing the sustainability of the Universal Service in each member-state of the European Union, as well as the impact that the competition of a fully liberalized market will have on the provision of this service. The study was carried out between November 2005 and May 2006, and involved stakeholders from the EU's member-states as well as from Bulgaria, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Romania.
