Universal Service Convention - Fixed Telephone Service Prices

By deliberation of February 7th 2002 and after the analysis of the proposal containing the conditions for the universal service convention presented by PT Comunicações, anunderstanding was approved whereby the present circumstances and the foreseeable evolution of the regulatory framework, which involves new solutions for the  definition of the conditions for the provision of the universal service,  are considered to minimize the urgency to celebrate a new Convention. This does not stop PT Comunicações from reformulating its prices within the framework of the existing norms, as happened in 2001.
