ANACOM organised a workshop on ENUM (Telephone Number Mapping) in the Alfa Hotel in Lisbon, on June 24th, 2002.
The workshop initiate the debate on the issues associated to the implementation of the ENUM protocol, whereby telephone numbers may be mapped into Internet names, thus facilitating users owning traditional telephone numbers access to Internet applications.
The speeches by the participants have provided clarifications on the subjects presented and identified some questions to be analysed.
As a result of the workshop, it was concluded to be necessary to advance with new initiatives in order to achieve ongoing evaluation about the conditions whereby ENUM may be successfully implemented in Portugal.
