The 39th meeting of the OECD working group on Communications Infrastructure and Service Policies (WP CISP) was held last 3-4 December in Paris.
The first part saw presentation of several reports prepared by the secretariat on next generation networks (NGNs), fibre optic networks, addressing, broadband, consumer protection and investment in telecommunication networks, which were subsequently subject to oral commentary by the attending delegations.
The group subsequently received a visit from the Egyptian telecommunications minister, who gave a presentation on the telecommunications sector in his country.
Lastly, a proposal to hold a workshop on investment in fibre optic networks was debated, along with the 2008-2010 working programme.
