The European Commission (EC) hosted last 11 December in Brussels a seminar to launch the study on ''Main Postal Sector Developments in the 2006-2008 Period'', to be conducted for the EC by Ecorys Consulting & Research.
The study is carried out under article 23 of Directive 97/67/EC (Postal Directive), as amended by Directive 2002/39/EC, concerning the report on Postal Directive application that the EC must submit every two years to the European Parliament and to the Council with appropriate information on the sector's evolution, specifically with respect to economic, social, job-related and technological aspects, as well as quality of service.
