In the CEPT ambit and organised by ANACOM, the group WG FM PT22 on spectrum monitoring met last 1-4 April in Lisbon. Some 26 countries attended the meeting, for a total of 50 delegates. There has been a continual increase in the number of attending countries and delegates - a good indicator of the importance of the subjects covered.
Among other subjects, the meeting's agenda included the preparation of a report on coverage and quality measurements for UMTS cellular networks, completion of a recommendation with measurement methods for powerline communications, definition of a questionnaire for gathering data on aeronautic service interference, completion of the report on audio broadcasting composed signal potential (MPX power), start of preparation of a recommendation on DVB-T measurements, digital terrestrial television standard, continued production of a report on various aspects concerning the definition, choice and maintenance of a remote monitoring site, and study of the measurement method for the evaluation of WiFi network electromagnetic fields.
A presentation was given on ANACOM's activity in the areas of spectrum monitoring and control; there was also a visit to the Spectrum Monitoring and Control Centre in Barcarena.
The group's next meeting will be held in October 2008 in Montenegro.
