France takes over the presidency of Council of the European Union (EU) today, 1 July, from Slovenia. The website of the French presidency is already available with information in French, English, Spanish, German and Italian, and includes two calendars: one with the major meetings currently scheduled to take place between now and the end of the year and the other with the main events scheduled for the month July.

The site provides further information on subjects such as press services and the French presidency logo, including an explanation of its meaning. In sectoral terms, a Council of Ministers of Transport, Telecommunications and Energy has been planned for 27 November.
