ANACOM has received a number of requests to extend the deadline - 31 December 2007 - for the authorisation of technical trials, established subsequent to the action plan of the report of the public consultation on the introduction of Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) in Portugal.
In view of the interest manifested by several entities in the execution of trials, the delays that have been seen in the provision of testing equipment by manufacturers and the fact that the process of allocating the BWA frequency usage right has not been concluded, ANACOM has decided, under the terms of paragraph 3 of article 5 of Decree-Law no. 151-A/2000 of 20 July, to extend the deadline for the authorisation of technical trials until 30 September 2008.
