The ANACOM Conference, on the subject of “Universal Service”, is taking place today in Culturgest’s large auditorium in Lisbon. The event will also be broadcast online.
The Conference begins at 9.30am, with the Minister of Public Works, Transport and Communications attending the opening session and with the participation of various prestigious national and international figures, including representatives from national regulatory authorities and sectoral associations, corporate leaders and members of relevant international organisations as well as delegates from the European Union. Proceedings are scheduled to come to a close at 6pm.
The Conference will cover the key and current issues raised by the universal service in the communications sector, resulting from the reflection currently underway at both a national and community level, in view, on the one hand, of the reform of the regulatory framework and, on the other, the liberalisation of the postal market, due in 2011.
