Study ''Comparisons of prices of providers of the universal postal service in the European Union''

Given the lack of public comparisons among European Union countries of prices of postal services, the objective of this study is to make a systematic and current comparison between a broad range of postal services provided under the universal service by the respective operators of the Member states of the European Union. Examining the prices of these services, it is shown that, with the exception of intra-community cross-border non-priority post up to twenty grams, prices in Portugal are below the average of the countries of the European Union (EU27) (excluding Portugal) when compared directly or compared based on PPP.
