ANACOM shall have an institutional involvement, as independent observer, in the closed tender for the installation of a GSS (Galileo Sensor Station), promoted by the European Space Agency, in which the Autonomous Region of Madeira has been invited to participate.
This initiative will allow the development in this Autonomous Region of a centre of expertise in GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems), the installation of a GESS antenna (Galileo Experimental Sensor Station), mainly devoted to investigation, technological development and innovation activities, being one of the pillars of this strategy. The project coordination is incumbent on Madeira Tecnopólo - Madeira's Scientific and Technological Centre.
