NFAP revision consultation closed

By determination of 17 December 2008, ANACOM approved the new version of the National Frequency Allocation Plan (NFAP) to prevail in 2009, as well as the report on the corresponding public consultation, in the scope of which contributions were received from the Portugal Telecom Group (Portugal Telecom, SGPS, PT Comunicações, PT Prime; PT Acesso de Internet Wi-Fi and TMN), iBand, Sonaecom, Vodafone, WiMedia and Zon.

NFAP 2008 updates the version currently in force (NFAP 2007), namely as regards usage data for 30 November 2008, information on frequency bands reserved and available in 2009, and on spectrum use exempted from radio licenses.

ANACOM took into consideration comments received in the scope of the corresponding public consultation, having assessed the matter in the light of the regulatory objectives laid down in the Electronic Communications Law (Law no. 5/2004 of 10 February) taking also into account the position of respondents in the context of the communications market.
