Radio Spectrum Policy Group - 18th meeting

The European Commission's Radio Spectrum Policy Group (RSPG) has held its 18th meeting in Brussels. At the meeting, on 11 February 2009, the Group adopted an opinion on best practices regarding the use of spectrum by public sectors.

The RSPG also addressed issues such as the digital dividend and wireless broadband, having reviewed the progress of the working groups responsible for these two subjects. It also discussed the coordination of EU interests with respect to spectrum issues in view of the next World Radiocommunications Conference (WRC-11) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the joint activity of RSPG and the European Regulators Group ( ERG) on the new challenges of competition arising from more flexible spectrum management and methods for determining the price and allocation of rights for more efficient spectrum use.

The RSPG has decided to publish its 2009 work programme online.
