By determination of 4 February 2009, ANACOM has given approval to the E112 Regulation, establishing the principles and rules which govern the provision to authorities responsible for providing emergency services of information on the location of callers to the single European 112 emergency number and which apply to undertakings providing publicly available telephone services and networks.
Likewise, approval was given to the report on the consultation to which the respective draft Regulation, approved on 15 October 2008, was submitted. During this consultation comments were received from the following entities: Direcção-Geral do Consumidor, Fenacoop, Grupo Portugal Telecom, INEM, Rede Nacional de Segurança Interna - Direcção Geral de Infra-estruturas e Equipamentos do Ministério da Administração Interna, Sonaecom, União Geral de Consumidores, Vodafone Portugal and ZON TV Cabo Portugal.
In accordance with the regulatory procedure set out in the statutes of ANACOM, this Regulation will be published in the 2nd Series of the Diário da República, whereon it shall enter into force, under law.
