Draft Law on electronic communications networks and infrastructure

The Council of Ministers gave approval yesterday to a draft Law which will establish the regime applicable to the construction, access and installation of electronic communication networks and infrastructure, with the aim of facilitating the removal or mitigation of barriers to the construction of next generation network infrastructure.

According to the communication issued by the Council, this proposal «will respond to the clear need to define the framework governing development and investment by investors and/or operators of electronic communications in Next Generation Networks, as well as for the functioning of a competitive market. All are called upon to intervene in order to advance investment in the information society.»
