Digital Terrestrial Television - determination of ANACOM

The Board of Directors of Autoridade Nacional de Comunicações (ANACOM), which met today, having analysed:

• The exploitation project of the Digital Terrestrial Television Platform for Portugal;
   
• The objective difficulties of the mass offer of the terminal equipment necessary to begin the commercial exploitation of said platform;
   
• The business model on which was based the launch of the public tender, through which the exploitation license was granted to Plataforma de Televisão Digital Terrestre, S.A. (PTDP);
   
• That PTDP admitted the solution consisting in extinguishing the rights and obligations associated with the license that was granted to it;
   
• The safeguard of the public interest;

decided to propose to the Minister of Economy to revoke the granted license.
