On 9 July, the European Commission launched an online consultation to compile comments, until 31 December 2009, on the challenges raised by the fundamental right to personal data protection in the European Union (EU).
The goal of the consultation is to compile the various points of view on the new challenges for the protection of personal data, in order to maintain a global and effective legal framework to protect the individual's personal data in the EU.
