By determination of 8 July 2009, ANACOM approved a final decision on the statistical indicators to be sent on a quarterly basis to this Authority by mobile service providers, replacing current statistical indicators of the mobile telephone service by a new form to be filled in by all mobile service providers, which also integrate indicators on mobile broadband.
These indicators do not cover services that, on a regulatory perspective, are classified as fixed telephone service (such as provisions supported on GSM/UMTS frequencies), the statistics of which are reported in a specific form.
This decision is based on new solicitations that have arisen at an international level, and which ANACOM must meet, on technological and commercial developments that have taken place since the approval of former forms and those which are likely to occur in a near future, on the advantages of integrating information gathered on mobile services in several scopes, thus ensuring that gathered indicators are comparable, as well as on solicitations and suggestions from operators, regarding the detail of roaming traffic and network indicators.
Approval was given also to the report of the prior hearing to which the respective draft decision was subject.
