At the ceremony for the public presentation of the results of the 2008 ECSI Portugal study - National Customer Satisfaction Index, ANACOM was distinguished for its participation in this project over the 9 years since the launch of the study on the telecommunications sector. The ceremony, which took place on 11 September 2009 in the auditorium of Instituto Português da Qualidade (Portuguese Quality Institute), was attended by the Chairman of ANACOM’s Management Board, José Amado da Silva, who was also a keynote speaker at the event.

The ECSI project, which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, is a system which assesses customer satisfaction to measure the quality of goods and services available in the national market. The study was conducted by a team made up of staff from the APQ - Associação Portuguesa para a Qualidade (Portuguese Quality Association), Instituto Português da Qualidade and ISEGI-UNL - Instituto Superior de Estatística e Gestão da Informação da Universidade Nova de Lisboa (Higher Institute of Statistics and Information Management).
