The August 2014 edition of the Spectru monthly newsletter includes reports about the 7th International Conference organised by ANACOM, whose theme is 'Consolidation in the Telecommunications Sector - trends and new challenges', as well as the call for papers for the 8th Congress of the Portuguese URSI Committee, scheduled for 28 November and devoted to the theme of 'Drones and Autonomous Vehicles: present and future challenges'.
Other highlights include the holding of public consultations on the criteria used to set prices for universal postal service provided by the Portuguese postal service (CTT) and on the setting of quality of service parameters and performance goals associated to the provision of universal postal service, to be in force during the 2015-2017 three-year period.
Lastly, the publication of the final draft of the 2nd edition of the ITUR Manual on technical requirements and specifications for telecommunication infrastructures in housing estates, urban developments and groups of buildings is reported, along with the forwarding of an opinion on the system governing the operation and practice of online gaming to Parliament's Committee on the Economy and Public Works.
