A meeting of drafters from the BEREC experts working group (EWG) on Cross Border Issues was held last 5 September in Brussels.
A highlight of the meeting was the presence of a European Commission representative, at the group’s request, to explain the scope of section 1 of article 28 of the Universal Service Directive. The content of the questionnaire published on 26 August, for market players to respond to by 23 September, was also examined. Preliminary discussions were also held on how to structure the report based on responses to the questionnaire. Two conference calls were subsequently organised on 27 September and 4 October, during which the report’s final arrangement was determined. Tasks were also distributed among the project team’s various drafters. The report’s first version is to be debated at the group meeting on 13 October.
