The European Commission (EC) has published a guide for public authorities which manage European Union (EU) funds on the different models of investment in high speed internet infrastructures.
The Guide to Broadband Investment is based on a detailed review of several broadband investment projects, mostly co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), and marks the first attempt by the Commission to provide public authorities which manage EU funds with advice on the strengths and weaknesses of different investment models and on the technological, political and regulatory issues inherent to each model.
This document complements other activities undertaken by the EC in the context of the Digital Agenda for Europe initiative.
