ITU launches public consultation on Strategic Plan

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) - the specialist United Nations agency for communications and the information society - has recently launched a public consultation in order to compile input for preparation of its 2016-2019 Strategic Plan.

The Strategic Plan is an important instrument that sets out the main lines of ITU action, and will be adopted by the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference (the Union's highest body), to be held in Busan, South Korea, from 20 October to 7 November 2014.

Through this consultation, the ITU is seeking views on what is expected of the Union in the future, particularly in terms of where the Union's resources should be focused to better serve the general interest and on the challenges the ITU should prepare to face.

Contributions should be submitted by 6 September 2013 online at www.itu.int/PublicConsultationshttp://itu-ideas.crowdicity.com/ or sent by email to strategy@itu.intmailto:strategy@itu.int.
