The Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) has issued a statement on the study conducted for the European Commission (EC) on quality of service of broadband in Europe.
BEREC supports the European Commission's efforts to measure broadband speeds in Europe and is available to participate in the third phase of research planned for 2014, particularly in improving the methodology used. This methodology must be fully transparent, allowing reliable comparisons between countries and reflecting different uses of technology among Member States, as was not properly the case in the present study.
