By decision of 20 November 2014, ANACOM has approved the 2nd edition of the ITUR Manual - Requirements and technical specifications of telecommunications infrastructure in housing developments, urban settlements and concentrations of buildings. The new edition of the manual comes into force with immediate effect.
Approval has also been given to a transitional period, until 31 December, during which technical projects of telecommunications infrastructure in housing developments, urban settlements and concentrations of buildings made in accordance with the previous requirements and technical specifications (ITUR Manual - 1st edition) will still be considered valid. For this purpose, the date considered as the date of the project's conclusion is as specifically mentioned therein and in the designer's guarantee, under the terms of article 36 of Decree-Law no. 123/2009 of 21 May, as amended and republished by Law no. 47/2013 of 10 July.
The draft of the 2nd edition of the ITUR manual was approved for notification to the European Commission (EC) on 10 July 2014. The EC set out its position on the draft, and its comments were considered in the final version.
