Eligibility of calls for indirect access involving direct clients of new operators
The ICP understanding of the eligibility of calls for indirect access involving direct clients of new operators was established on the 19th of January 2000, based on the following principles:
a. Regarding to PT originated carrier calls, what is defined in the "Set of items to be Included in the RIO 2000" document, point IX.B,4, establishing that "inter-urban and international commuted services will be eligible for (pre)selection, with calls between local networks of more than 50km apart being considered as "inter-urban" calls, is hereby reiterate;
b. In the case of new fixed telephone service operator, calls made between direct clients located in different geographic numbering zones will be considered eligible for indirect access as long as the exchanges of the respective geographic numbering zones are more than 50 km apart;
c. The situation of the Autonomous Region of Azores takes on an exceptional character. Calls made between direct clients located in geographic numbering zones in the Azores will not be eligible for indirect access.
