Publicity and information of utilitarian nature in telephone directories to be provided in the scope of the universal service


By determination of 4 May 2005, the draft decision that defines the conditions for the inclusion of publicity in printed or electronic telephone directories, provided in the scope of the electronic communications universal service and that sets out information of an utilitarian nature which shall be inserted in the initial pages thereof, was approved.

Given the contents and repercussions of this draft decision, it was notified to all publicly available electronic communications service providers, so that the latter may assess the matter, within a 20-day time limit, pursuant to the Code of Administrative Procedure. The Consumer Institute and the representative consumer organisations (DECO, FENACOOP, UGC and ACOP), were likewise notified to provide the respective positions within the same established time limit.
