The European Commission (EC) and the European Audiovisual Observatory have launched MAVISE, a database on television.
Launched in Cannes, France on 9 April, this tool includes the profiles and contact details of 2,500 television channels and operators in Europe, a figure which, it is hoped, will rise to around five thousand.
Part of the database will be accessible to the general public, free of charge, through the websites of the EC, the Commission’s Audiovisual Service and of the European Audiovisual Observatory.
