ANACOM has approved, by determination of 12 March, the report of the consultation, launched on 21 January 2008, on the frequency usage rights of Rádio e Televisão de Portugal, S.A. (RTP) for analogue television broadcasting.
As a result, it was decided to include, among the conditions governing the frequency usage rights and on the title to be issued to RTP for the exercise of the activity of analogue television broadcasting, the recuperation by ICP-ANACOM, without cost, of the frequencies concerned, following the amendments made to the National frequency Allocation Plan (NFAP), particularly upon the establishment, under legal terms, of the date for the switch off of analogue system television transmissions;
The terms of the title to be issued were approved accordingly, having been submitted to a prior hearing of RTP under the terms of the Code of Administrative Procedure.
RTP is the concessionaire of the public television service and the holder of frequency usage rights for the activity of analogue television broadcasting in respect of the programming services of RTP 1, RTP 2, RTP Açores and RTP Madeira.
