The European Commission (EC) has launched a public consultation on a set of principles on collective redress which should be followed within the framework of the systems of redress to the service of the consumer.
The importance of this issue stems from facilitating the right to bring complaints and the exercise of this right by consumers, given that through collective action, a group of consumers can unite to strengthen their rights.
The results of this consultation and of the studies on the same issue, also put forward by the EC, will allow the Commission to make a decision on the possible need for measures in this area at a European Union level.
