The IRG Contact Network (CN) met last 6 May in Istanbul. Among other issues, the participants discussed the 2011 budget, a topic directly associated to the IRG’s future, which will be decided at the end of the year. The Implementation Team reported in turn on the meetings held since the last CN. The staff implementing rules, process for choosing new employees and participation of European Economic Area (EEA) countries were also debated. Lastly, the chairman reported on establishment of the European Regulators Group for Postal Services (ERGP), emphasising that a document is being prepared for adoption by directors in Helsinki which supports creation of this new group by the European Commission.
