The Grupo de Alto Nível (GAN - High Level Group) of Associação para a Promoção e Desenvolvimento da Sociedade da Informação (APDSI - The Association for the Promotion and Development of the Information Society) is to present, on 30 January in Lisbon, its position on ''Two years of XVII Government in the Development of the Information Society in Portugal'', with the aim of setting out the GAN's appraisal of the policies followed by the Government in the areas that effect Portugal's place in the information society.
In accordance with its mission, the GAN is charged with providing, in a systematic way and on a continuing basis, a qualitative and quantitative assessment of the activity of the sovereign bodies and of other relevant initiatives in the area of the information and knowledge society. In this context, GAN periodically produces a document setting out a position on a theme of national interest, always seeking that it be pertinent, topical and relevant.
