Study on the impact of the ICT sector on economic growth and competitiveness


On 20 September, the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Information Society and Media launched a call for tender for a study on the impact of the information and communication technologies (ICT) sector on economic growth and competitiveness.

The aim of the study, made in the scope of the i2010 initiative, is to define and characterize the “new” European ICT sector, to propose a set of indicators to measure the sector’s competitiveness and its impact on economic growth, to provide updated data in this respect and to contribute to the analysis of recent progresses towards the desired development of the information society.

The call will be open until 27 October and the opening of proposals will take place on 8 November 2005.
