Conference Preparatory Group meeting (CPG PT-C) - Copenhagen

The first meeting of project team PT-C of the Conference Preparatory Group (CPG15) was held last 11-13 December in Copenhagen, chaired by Gerlof Osinga of the Netherlands and attended by 38 delegates from 14 administrations and 11 observers from international organisations.

This CEPT working group’s mission is to oversee European preparation for proceedings of the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-15). This meeting was specifically meant to organise the WRC-15 preparatory work associated to amateur service, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), maritime mobile service, wireless avionics intra-communications (WAIC) and automotive applications in the scope of radio location-finding in the 77.5-78 GHz frequency band.

Project team PT-C is one of four CPG15 group teams that prepares briefs and (if they achieve consensus) European common proposals (ECPs) for each of the items it is responsible for, so they can be submitted to CPG15 for approval.

At the first plenary session it set up a subgroup for each of the items it should study (1.4, 1.5, 1.15, 1.16, 1.17 and 1.18). Discussion in each subgroup was led by the respective CEPT co-ordinators designated by CPG15, one co-ordinator for each WRC-15 agenda item, responsible for closely following the subject matter, managing discussion and achieving consensus.

Instructions were agreed on for each of the items being debated, so they could be presented at the next CPG15 group meeting for approval.

The next PT-C meeting has been scheduled for this coming 16-19 April in London.
