61st ETSI General Assembly - Mandelieu


The 61st ETSI General Assembly (GA) was held last 19-20 March in Mandelieu, France.

The GA approved 23 new members (19 full members and four associate members). There was a positive balance overall in terms of growth in the number of members and of the contribution units (CUs), which respectively totalled 775 and 3,783.

The GA approved the positive financial result of nearly 20,000 euros for year 2012 and the respective report for year 2013, took note of the current status of 2013 budget execution and approved guidelines for the 2014 budget, which envisages maintaining the values of the diverse CUs.

Regarding ongoing work, the amphitheatre (with capacity for 240 people) should be completed in 2014 and will then be able to host GA meetings, resulting in significant savings.

The GA took note of the status of work carried out under the ad hoc group for revision of ETSI’s structure and governance (GAGS) and approved in a specially convened meeting a number of changes to the ETSI directives.

Regarding cooperation, the renewal of several memorandums of understanding and cooperation agreements was approved.

The next GA has been scheduled for 19-20 November 2013 in Mandelieu.
