The Autoridade Nacional de Comunicações (ANACOM) edited an informative leaflet on portability, in the scope of a national informative campaign launched on 29 June 2003. Portability it?s a reality, in the fixed telephone lines, since 30 of June 2001. In the mobile telephone services, it was available in 1 of January 2002.
Amoung the easinesses associated to the possibility to change the operator - fixed or mobile - without changing the telephone number, there is the operators? obligatoriness to make available a telephone informative service onthe voice calls prices to ported numbers whenever an increase of the sum to be payed by the users who effect this type of communications can exist.
In the case of voice calls destined to ported numbers carried through between mobile telephone lines, there is also the operators? obligatoriness to make available, in the beginning of each telephone call, a free of charge on-line announcement identifying the new operator to which belong the dialed number by the user caller, which is available since 30 June 2003.
This leaflet will be spread in the generality of the population, appointedly through registration in some periodicals and magazines and its distribution in the Citizen Stores.
