IR EWG meeting - Brussels


Brussels hosted last 19 January a meeting of the BEREC expert working group on International Roaming (IR EWG), co-chaired by the national regulatory authorities (NRAs) of Austria (RTR - Austrian Regulatory Authority for Broadcasting and Telecommunications) and Spain (CNMC - Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y de la Competencia).

The following were the meeting’s main agenda points: (i) summarised presentation of discussions at the last BEREC plenary meeting, which led to production and later approval of the document on “Analysis of the Impacts” concerning roam like at home (RLAH), which aims to address some of the points deriving from the proposed European Commission (EC) regulation setting measures for the European single market for electronic communications and meant to create a connected continent - the Telecoms Single Market (TSM) Regulation; (ii) information about latest developments associated to the aforementioned TSM Regulation; (iii) discussion of the current status of activities associated to production of the 14th Benchmark Report covering the period between April and September 2014, with presentation and discussion of available results to date. The planned 2015 working programme was also presented at the IR EWG meeting, with identification of expected deliverables and associated time periods.
