The project team on Number Portability (PT NP) of the working group on Numbering and Networks (WG NaN) met last 12-13 March in Copenhagen. This PT produces studies, reports and recommendations concerning aspects associated to number portability.
At this meeting the work focused on drawing up two documents:
- the first on the eventual impact of allowing access by entities without apparent portability obligations to number portability databases. The report was completed and submitted to public consultation;
- the second studies more flexible use of numbers as calling line identification (CLI) identifiers of a communication’s origin.
This PT will next meet in June 2015.
