BEREC held last 4 March 2015 in Brussels a workshop on accessibility in electronic communications, an event which helped prepare the report on equal access and choice for end users with special needs.
The following topics were considered: accessibility and usability challenges affecting end users with special needs vis-à-vis electronic communications; contribution of regulators to promote improvement in that area; industry’s perspective regarding accessibility; challenges for manufacturers and service providers.
This event, whose opening session was overseen by Fátima Barros, was attended by representatives of regulators, manufacturers, associations defending users with special needs, service providers, independent experts working in this area and the European Commission (EC).
